About the business and the role

HX Building Limited division of prefabrication does R&D, design and construction management. The prefab building products are manufacturered in China and to be applied on site in NZ. Construction project manager is required to manage both China and NZ building environment.



Job tasks and responsibilities

Core duties of project manager include:

Consulting with designers, engineers, local council and trade subcontractors. Interpreting China manufacturer and NZ local architectural drawings and specification. Coordinating tendering, contract, procurement and logistics. Controlling construction programs, quality assurance and budget. Ensuring construction works comply with NZ standard, Worksafe, and local council inspections.


Skills and experience

The role requires 5+ years project manager experience in building industry. Large enterprise experience is preferred. Prefabrication and modular building experience is key requirement to perform the tasks and responsibilities of the job. English and Chinese speaking are both essential to ensure communication between NZ local subcontractors, councils, Chinese prefabrication manufacturer and company’s clients (90% clients are Chinese).
